Why do 3 of our TV turned on

Jun 4, 2009 Author: admin | Filed under: Others

We have 5 TV in our home " 1 in the livingroom, 3 bedrooms, and 1 in our basement". Three of our TV like to turn on by it self and turn channels all by it self. The TV in the living room, TV in the basement, and the TV in the boys room. It is not from the remote from the TVs. We already test that out. Any reason for this?

Yeah….one of the boy's don't wash their hands after eating peanut butter sandwiches or other sticky, gooey stuff….then he fondles the switches and gets them sticky….then they stick.

So, how do you fix it?

UNPLUG the TV set…..get some alcohol that is 70% (water and alcohol are the best solvent cleaners!)

And get a toothbrush….I prefer MR Fudgy-fingers toothbrush

Dip the toothbrush in the alcohol and just Go To Town on those switches….soak them, scrub them, scrub some more….you can also work the buttons to work the solvent into the sticky parts.

THEN let them dry for an hour….

THEN plug it in and turn it on and if they STILL STICK….it's time to pull the switch assembly out of the TV set and do the process again…

If it still sticks, then you need to replace the switches…

I think you need to clean the keyboard on the TV with alcohol and a toothbrush…

Then plug it back in after 20 minutes…..

Why is my sony tv volume acting up?

May 31, 2009 Author: admin | Filed under: Others

Just randomly, I was watching tv when the volume drastically increased. Even though I wasn't touching to remote and neither was anyone else. Like even if you pressed the back button to lower the volume, it would continue to increase drastically. It won't stop. HELP?!

LOOK at the front control panel buttons…especially the VOLUME UP button…I'll bet you'll find it's sticky or won't bounce when you depress it.

That means you need to replace it….OR clean it.

Alcohol and a toothbrush will loosen any gunk on that switch.

Yes, I do recommend unplugging the TV set for 30 minutes AFTER cleaning the switches.

I bought a Universal Control Box (to change channels and adjust volume), it has no effect on the RCA TV's menu.

It means your remote has a BUTTON that's sticking…..

Put your remote in a drawer and the box should stop blinking too….

Now, get the remote back out…..Press each button to reset the pads and if it's sticky….Get a toothbrush and some Windex…spray the toothbrush and scrub the entire top of the remote, buttons and all….

Then use a paper towel to remove all the Windex….

Now, don't oversoak the remote, use Just enough ON the toothbrush to get a good foam up on the remote……
