Some home remedies for you:
Put a little alum directly on a sore. You can find alum in the spice section of your local supermarket.
Treat canker sores with hydrogen peroxide diluted with water. Swish around in the mouth two to three times a day, making sure none is swallowed, to kill the bacteria. Be careful not to overuse, or it will kill friendly bacteria as well. Because bacteria thrive in warm, moist environments, a canker sore will take about ten days to heal if left untreated.
Wash your mouth out with very strong, warm salt water three or four times a day can help take away canker sore pain and speed healing. The salt may sting, but it should clear up the sore in a couple of days.
Rinse your mouth out with aloe vera gel the way you would mouthwash, several times a day, until the condition clears up.
Swish some Mylanta around your mouth may speed healing of a canker sore. Don’t swallow unless you also have an upset stomach.
Drink a glass of milk can help your canker sore feel better. Swish a little milk or buttermilk around your mouth three or four times a day to reduce pain.
Place a pinch of baking soda on your sore to dry it up. You can also make a paste by adding a little water to one teaspoon baking soda. Place on the canker sore and keep reapplying when it dissolves. Baking soda helps fight bacteria, and brushing your teeth with baking soda may help prevent sores in the first place.
Brew yourself a nice cup of tea, and after you’ve enjoyed it, put the tea bag in your mouth on the canker sore. This should help heal the sore in a matter of days.
Recommendations
People often get canker sores after they’ve had some. Even a small cut presents an opportunity for bacterial infection. If you break the skin in your mouth, take some of the preventive measures outlined above. Also, use a toothbrush with soft bristles and change it often to avoid damaging the mouth’s delicate tissues.
If you routinely get canker sores, increase your intake of foods high in Vitamins B and C, or take daily supplements.
Sugar may be a culprit in causing canker sores. Reduce or eliminate it from your diet if you suffer from canker sores chronically.
Hope this helps!!

Just today I have been having some throat pain. However, it feels like the pain is only on one side of my throat, and I do not feel any other symptoms (no fever). When I brush my teeth, I tend to brush my tongue as well, and sometimes hit the back of my throat when I brush the back of my tongue. Do you think that it is possible I poked myself in the throat, and that is where the pain stems from? I've never heard of that happening, and I could be sick. Please let me know what you think.

You can't get tonsillitis without tonsils but apparently you can still get strep throat without tonsils so just be care and be sure to clean your hands and throw out her toothbrush.
I have a REALLY bad sore throat(like it hurts when I swallow my spit)but I can't go to the doctor because I'm on vacation. Will ice cream sooth the pain?? What over-the-counter medicines can I take so I can feel better?? I dont want to ruin my vacation my not being able to swallow anything.

A visit to the doctor would be your best shot. However, in the meantime, I would suggest hydrogen peroxide – Just gargle out your throat. DO NOT SWALLOW THE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. Also, after that, I would again use 'salt' as a gargle. This pretty much will boil out germs that are locked in under the gums in the mouth. This would take care of places where a toothbrush couldn't reach. Always eat something 'first' BEFORE you take aspirin. Otherwise, you will experience 'bleeding' in your esophagus. I know that you don't want this to happen. To loosen phlegm in the throat and within the body, take no more than one aspirin every six hours. This you should do about 2 times a day. You must also get at least 8 hours of rest, each and every day. As your throat may be 'sensitive' at this time, you should take more soups, teas and liquids. This will help improve your entire being. What shall we then say to these things? If GOD be for us, WHO can be against us? – Romans 8:31. The Lord daily loadeth us with BENEFITS, even the GOD of our salvation. Selah. – Psalm 68:19. Peace!!!

Sounds like a mouth ulcer. Does it have a white center? For pain, mix 1/2 Maalox and 1/2 (liquid) Benedryl. Swish and spit. When it goes away, get a new toothbrush or it will re-occur every time you bit your lip or nick yourself with your toothbrush.
Every morning I wake up and my stomach starts to hurt because I swallow my spit. Why is that?
