Ultrasound Toothbrush – Oral Care – Compare Prices, Reviews and Buy
Well, my cell phone got covered with beer and now it doesnt work. Any ideas? I know I'll probably have to get a new one, but if I can avoid that it would be great.

It sounds like it is shorting out. Sometimes after a phone gets wet, corrosion can build up inside the phone, like how a penny turns green when it gets wet. That corrosion usually can't be fixed because even if you clean it, it will come back.
You can try plugging and unplugging a headset and see if that tricks the phone out of headset mode. Also, check for corrosion (chalky green or whitish stuff) in the ports. You can try cleaning that out with a toothbrush and some alcohol. Don't poor the alcohol directly on the phone! Just dab a little on the brush and brush the ports.
Good luck!

I've been in wireless for 7 years, so here are my recommendations. Rubbing alcohol is the best to use on most of your phone (buttons, speaker area, etc) for getting rid of germs and oils, however on some older models that have the plastic encasement over the display you will want to use glass cleaner on that particular part or else the plastic covering may turn opaque.
I know you didn't specifically ask for this, but you may also want to occassionally clean the bottom where you connect the charger. For this, you can dip a soft bristled toothbrush in a bit of rubbing alcohol (do not immerse it) and gently brush the connection area to free up any goo or small particles that are wedged or blocking your connectors.
Another note: Never use any type of liquid behind the battery. Most phone manufacturers have a dot or line on the back behind the battery that – if gotten even remotely wet or damp – will leave a tell-tale mark. It won't hurt your phone, but if you should have an issue while it is under warranty they will assume it is water damage and won't even bother taking it apart to see otherwise.

I suggest you wet a toothbrush with windex and then dry it off the best you can (really dry) before running it over all the keys and ear and mouth pieces. That's how I clean mine other than disinfecting wipes.
My phone goes in and and out of hands free mode while I am using it. I don't even have a headset, so I'm confused as to why it's doing this. I tried powering off and turning it back on again, but other than that I don't have any other idea what I can do to get it to stop.
Any suggestions?

Maybe it got wet? or maybe there is something lodged in the headset jack. Try taking a soft brush (a toothbrush works) and some denatured alcohol to clean out the port. Otherwise I think you'll have to go to a service center

a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol less that 99% if you use 99% it can/ will ruin components in the phone ! You can also use the pressurized air they work great for gettin the dust and dirt out ! whatever you do dont use water or anyother liquid besides alcohol. I am a phone technician and fix water damaged phones all day
